If the first choice – CO² avoidance or reduction – is not possible, the second choice – CO² compensation – is a matter of course for us. Since 2021, A&R has been offsetting unavoidable emissions caused by the transport of goods with the help of the climate protection organization atmosfair.
We support atmosfair‘s projects on a monthly basis with a voluntary climate protection contribution that depends on our emissions.
atmosfair uses this contribution to expand renewable energies in countries where they are still scarce – i.e. primarily in developing countries. In this way, atmosfair saves CO² that would otherwise have been produced by fossil energies in these countries. At the same time, the local people benefit, as they often gain access to clean and constantly available energy for the first time – a must for education and equal opportunities.
